The first Tourism Equipment and Services Fair, HostelCuba 2016, concludes today after three days of showing at the PABEXPO exhibition hall in Havana.
The event, which is taking advantage of the spiraling growth of travel to the country and was attended by 45 international exhibitors, was described by organizers, Fira Barcelona International of Spain and Pabexpo Fairs and Exhibitions of Cuba, as a success.
Cuban Deputy Tourism Minister, Alexis Trujillo, stated that he considered the fair an important exhibition of specialized equipment, destined especially for the hotel and catering industry.
"The current world and modern trends demand technology that will ensure safety, professionalism, sustainability and development with regards to the tourist sector," Trujillo stated.
The official also said that about 108,000 new hotels rooms will be built before 2030 in Cuba, to meet the growth in the tourist industry.
Cuba is happy with the high level of interest shown by many prestigious companies to establish businesses in the tourist sector here, Trujillo stated.
