Latin American participants, such the Mexican tourism secretary, Enrique de la Madrid stated that the sector is an important creator of jobs and has generated nine million jobs in his country.
He added that tourism is today one of the most important sectors of the Mexican Economy as it represents 8.5 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
Mexico is promoting 32 companies at the Fair, which is the most important tourism event in Europe and which is expected to host about 50 thousand visitors.
The Fair being held from November 7th to 9th, has 4,600 exhibitors from 186 countries.
It is estimated that it will generate business worth $ 3.6 billion.
One of the most attractive destinations being promoted is Cuba, with its growing business opportunities.
Cuba will also attend the Summit of Ministers - World Tourism Organization, which is being held tomorrow as part of the Fair and whose motto is 'Tourism and Security: The promotion of a Safe and Seamless Trip'.
