The headquarters of Regino Eladio Boti belonging to Higher Education hosts from this March 26 the Tenth Bilateral Meeting Guantánamo - Dominican Republic, a space to expose, debate, and systematize advanced experiences about pedagogy, teaching and research in function of the teaching.
Sponsored by the Cuban Association of Professors in the province, more than 70 participants attended, 19 of them coming from the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo and the San Martín Pores School, from the sister Caribbean nation.
On the second day of the meeting, the Cuban Association of Professors in Guantanamo awarded four professionals from both countries with the "Joya de la Pedagogía Cubana" Award for their outstanding career and their unconditional dedication to the task of teaching new generations.
The program of this scientific event also included the work in symposia, in which academics from five eastern provinces and the Dominican Republic exchanged experiences about the Project "Educadores Destacados Siglo XX" (Outstanding Teachers of the 20th Century).
In the same way, other papers related to didactic games, the environment, racism as well as the Dominican presence in the eastern region of the island of Cuba was presented.
On the opening day of the Tenth Guantanamo-Dominican Republic Bilateral Meeting, six pre-event courses on the topics related to learning based on local development, quality management of rural schools and preventive work to counteract family violence were held, among other presentations on the teaching task of both countries.
