A hundred scientific investigations of socio-economic and cultural impact in terms of local development will be presented during the fourth Scientific Workshop on Project Management to be held from June 8 to 10 at the University of Guantanamo.
Delegates from all Cuban universities and from several foreign nations such as Brazil, El Salvador, Mexico and Russia will exchange experiences related to the environment, risk management, focused on sustainability in local development from community projects.
Under the slogan "A look at social commitment", participants will discuss issues such as the impact of extension projects of foreign students in Cuban universities; methodological experiences in the improvement of university extension projects; the projects and transforming role in the community, among other topics.
During the Fourth Scientific Workshop on Management of University Projects, the Agroforestry School will develop the First Ibero-American Meeting of Students and Professionals of Agroforestry Sciences, where the photo exhibition “Environmental management for local development” will also be displayed.
Susana Angélica Pastrana, president of the Interuniversity Commission for Social Services of Mexico, will open the scientific sessions of the workshop with a keynote address on "Social service as an essential complement in the comprehensive education of university students.
This workshop held for the fourth time in this region, emerged as part of the student project Mochila al hombro, an initiative created by a group of Guantanamo students to carry out community work with an integrating action, in which students from different careers are involved.
