In primary education in Guantanamo, actions are undertaken aimed at strengthening the work mainly in the Mathematics, Spanish and Natural Sciences subjects with a view to the Regional Comparative and Explanatory Examination of the quality of Education (SERCE), to be developed next May.
It was said at CMKS Radio Station by Yaritza Benavides Rubio, the head of Primary Education, who also emphasized that the exam will include written evaluations to students of third and sixth grades chosen at random, with the aim of diagnosing and eradicating the main difficulties before the evaluation at international level.
In addition, the measures also include visits to classes, checking of knowledge and revisions of lesson plans and necessary documentation in schools, as well as interviews with teachers, students, parents and principals.
The head of Primary Education in the province, Yaritza Benavides Rubio, also added that third grade students will be chosen to examine the areas of mathematics and language in this International exercise; while those of sixth will be evaluated in those two subjects and in Natural Sciences.
