More than 50 literary works were presented in the provincial contest "Knows More who Reads More", dedicated to the thought of the Apostle José Martí and to pay homage in its XVII edition to the most important Cuban writers and the easternmost province of Cuba.
A jury composed of professors, librarians and methodologists verified the level of knowledge, eloquence and interpretation of the pioneers, when defending the works presented at the meeting, which was held at the Provincial Pioneers Camp “Daniel Llosa Preval.”
Some 15 students of the different teaching levels were awarded and the four most relevant works that will represent the Guantanamo Province in the national event, to be held next April in Havana, were also selected.
The winners of the first place went to the municipalities Baracoa and Guantánamo, pioneers Emilyn González Debros and Ibetsy Hernández Lobaina, Daimi Chiváz Ruiz and Lenna de la Caridad Mena Duvergel, from primary, special, secondary, pre-university and technical education, respectively.
In addition, the winning pioneers of the second and third place presented poems and didactic games with the most representative works by authors such as Dora Alonso, Nicolás Guillén, Gabriel García Márquez, Onelio Jorge Cardoso, Isabel Allende, just to mention a few.
In order to familiarize more and more students with the world of reading and develop in them narrative skills and oral expression, the Contest Knows More, Who Reads More treated topics such as love, friendship, social problems, environmental education and the thought of Martí, Fidel and Che regarding Education.
