Higher Education in Guantanamo has more than 2 thousand 112 places for twelfth graders, as well as for applicants by contest and other way for admission to the universities of the territory.
Juan Ramón Borges Medina, Provincial Secretary of the Commission of Entrance, said that 745 capacities are aimed to the Medical Sciences in the specialties of Nursing, Stomatology and Medicine, this last career with a 567 capacities.
The Master of Science also assured that this year the priority is the training of new teachers in the Bachelor's degrees of Primary Education, Preschool, Marxism, Leninism, Mathematics, Biology, Foreign Languages and Civil Engineering and others that are studied at the University of Guantanamo.
The Provincial Secretary of the Commission of Entrance also highlighted that the students honored with medals in knowledge contests, provincial and national, can opt for careers in Engineering in Computer Science, Computing and Bioinformatics.
For students who do not pass the entrance exams, they will be able to apply for the Short Cycle Programs among their ten options, with the right to continue the degree in the related profiles of Higher Education.
The ordinary call for entrance exams is scheduled for May 3, 7 and 10 in the subjects of Mathematics, Spanish and History of Cuba, respectively.
In the month of June the an extraordinary call will be held, which constitutes the second opportunity for all the fail in the first application; while the special one scheduled for August, is aimed at exceptionally justified young people.
