In each home of children with educational needs belonging to the ten municipalities, these teachers teach classes in Spanish, Mathematics, History of Cuba and other subjects included in the syllabus of each teaching level in favor of learning.

The itinerant teachers are part of the more than 1,800 educators who guarantee special education in Guantanamo, where about 2,600 students are affected by mental retardation, developmental delay, deafness, language disorders and any other disability.
In this school year 2018-2019, 21 Special Education Centers operate in the territory, which also have multidisciplinary teams made of specialists, speech therapists, physiotherapists and educators who ensure the quality of learning in a profession that requires great dedication.
