Today thousands of classrooms open their doors to hope, intelligence, the right and the potential of millions of students who aspire to learn with the guarantee of finding in each desk the material, human and technological resources necessary to achieve educational, human and cultural training par excellence.
This almost unique reality in the whole world stands out in the middle of an increasingly unequal and exclusive planet, where monopoly attacks and the egocentric right against the conquests of the most humble are intensified day by day.
This September 2, none of our students or teachers have to go out to the streets to demand the opening of a school, the payment of salaries or reject policies against the educational system, none will have to march through the streets in a demonstration against the abuses that thousands and thousands of teachers and children in dozens of nations of the world suffer.
After the acts of the beginning of the school period that takes place this Monday in the more than 778 educational facilities of the province, no father or mother will go home, or to work, with the concern of a shooting in one of our schools.
None will be either afraid of drug trafficking, rapes, kidnappings and habitual forced disappearances, even in powerful countries like the United States and others, which intend to give lessons in democracy and human rights.
The new school year in Guantanamo just begins to educate the new man who tomorrow will have to drive the destinies and principles of the socialist homeland.
As part of this celebration, the Provincial Act takes place at the Mártires 12 de Abril Primary School in the municipality Manuel Tames, where teachers and students will begin the new academic year under the José Martí and Fidel Castro’s ideology that defines the school as "gateway to life, and from which you have to become pure, strong and with the necessary knowledge to survive with joy and decorum."
