The 774 Guantanamo schools were called to implement safety measures within the opening of the school year, aimed at preventing the transmission of digestive and viral diseases in students and workers in the educational sector.
Among these actions includes the frequent hand washing after eating or using the restroom, as well as treating the fresh water with chlorine.
The proper use of children's towels, the hygiene of the classrooms, the washing of toys and kitchen utensils also stand out among the hygienic measures adopted in children's day care centers.
Likewise, the boarding and day centers are called for the constant checking of tanks, landfills, oxidation ponds and other areas, in order to prevent the transmission of digestive and viral diseases in students.
The teaching staff of Guantanamo also strives to create a true awareness of hygiene, based on learning, as well as promoting positive behaviors in schoolchildren, which extend to the community and the family.
