The official visited the pumping station located in the Montgomery neighborhood pertaining to the community of San Justo, which will benefit its residents, a work that is carried out to link with the conductive channel Shrimp Dam Faustino Perez and rehabilitation of the aqueduct Bano.
The work is carried out very fast, with efficiency and integration of all state bodies are appreciated, a fact that enables the achievement of immediate solutions for the water supply to the population, the member of the State Council said.
The leader knew about the situation of the reservoirs in the province which store below 40 percent of their capacity, mainly that of Faustino Perez designed to supply over 70 percent of the population in the city of Guantanamo and now stores seven times less water than in August 2014.
There are difficulties that must be addressed urgently, such as the cleaning and reconstruction of canals, the care of water conducting pipes, control of illegalities and waste of water in large consuming centers, Ines María Chapman, top leader of Water Resources in the country.
