The confluence of renowned musicians and groups from a dozen countries to the International Havana Jazz Plaza Festival 2015 captures today the attention of an expectant and expert public.
The confluence of renowned musicians and groups from a dozen countries to the International Havana Jazz Plaza Festival 2015 captures today the attention of an expectant and expert public.
This Festival, scheduled for December 17-20, will take place in several scenarios of the Cuban capital and will promote musical exchange. In the opening day will perform Ernan Lopez-Nussa with his trio and Preservation Hall Jazz Band, from New Orleans.
Another musician, who will perform at the Festival, is the American guitar player Billy Gibbons, member of the American rock band ZZ Top. He will present his solo album entitled Perfectamundo, an explicit tribute to Afro-Cuban jazz concocted with the musical complicity of Havana, New Orleans and New York.
During the Festival will also perform Daniel Puente from Chile, the trombonist Steve Turre and percussionist Robbie Amin from the United States, the Puerto Ricans Jerry Medina and saxophonist David Sanchez, who will share the stage on the closing night with Omara Portuondo, Bobby Carcasses y Harold Lopez-Nussa.
The guest list also includes the groups Triple Ace (Austria), Mongorama (US-Mexico), Organ Trio (Argentina), Alafia (Brazil), and The Shuffle Demons (Canada).
The 31st edition of International Havana Jazz Plaza Festival will be headquartered at the theaters Mella and America, Tito Junco, the Cultural Centers Bertolt Brecht and Raquel Revuelta, the Pavilion Cuba, the Cuban Art Factory, the Cafe Miramar, the Salon Rosado Benny More and the House of Culture of the municipality Plaza.
