The Joyce has been acknowledged internationally; it is a place of reference, closely followed by critics and the expert public, she said.

In her opinion, just to be on schedule at the Joyce is a privilege, as there is great rigor in the selection of dance groups to perform there.

Great Spanish dance artists like Israel Galvan and Maria Page have performed at the Joyce, she said.

We will offer the show "Entre Luces y Sombras" with the best choreographies of our company, mainly with more contemporary, revolutionary works within flamenco dancing, always with our Cuban touch with some instruments, movements and rhythms.

The Cuban spirit will always be present and noticed in our performances, she said.

This will be the third visit of the Irene Rodriguez Company to the United States this year, as they performed previously at the Moore Theater of Seattle.

She hoped year 2017 will also be very good for her group, on occasion of their fifth anniversary.
