Book Fair to Kick off in Guantanamo

A discussion about the historiographical work of Olga Portuondo Zúñiga in Guantanamo and presentation of her book “Una derrota británica en Cuba”( A British Defeat in Cuba) at the House of History of this city, will be the prelude Tuesday of the 24th International Book Fair in the province, to be held from April 8 to 12.

Dedicated to this writer, who is National Prize for Literature 2010, Leonardo Acosta Sánchez,  the 15th Anniversary of regional editorial houses and 120th of  Duaba and Playita de Cajobabo landing, the event will be opened the day 7th with the participation of local artists and writers.

Over 570 titles and about 88 thousand copies will be sold during the event at the sales network along the street Pedro Agustín Pérez, this time from Prado to Carretera and at 19 sales points in which the publishing houses of Las Tunas and Holguin are included.

Also Children's Pavilion Tesoro de Papel will be located in the Casa de la Cultura Rubén López Sabariego of this city, where in addition to the sale of books for children, there will be participation games, and performance of Guiñol Theatre Group.

Among the guests invited to  the 24rh Book Fair in Guantánamo are Fran Padrón, Enrique Perez Diaz Teresa Melo and others who will take part at lectures, book presentations and other activities taking place within the literary event.
