Representatives of Cuba and France signed today an agreement to identify possible areas of investment in camping development of high-standard, as part of the business space Collectivities, in which the island is guest of honor, as part of L''Humanité Festival.

The presence of Cuba in the event and the signing of the deal, open the way to a new stage in relations between both nations, mainly in the area of tourism, in moments when the flow of Fremch tourists to the island is growing by 130 percent, said the ambassador of Havana to Paris, Hector Igarza.

The diplomat stressed the importabnce of the deal to contribute so French continue learning more closely on Cuba, its history and culture, something that keeps on happening for decades thanks to the work of agencies such as Cuba Linda, he stressed.

On his part, the president of the French Enterprise Campeole, Erick Marie de Fiquelmont, defined Cuba as an island of hope, meetiung and relaxation, and expressed the intention of promoting ever more the travel of French people.

He added that the deal will allow to explore the possibilities of investment so campings in Cuba receive international visitors.

The First Vicepresident of Campismo Popular of Cuba, Juan Carlos Garcia Millan, highlighted the island is the most important natural scenery of the Caribbean region for its dimensión, variety and endemic levels, which is a strong attraction for nature tourism.

In consequence, he added, 'our organization, with its 96 facilities through all the archipelagoi, is also ready to participate in the new business opportunities and insert its different and unique products in the offer of nature tourism of the Cuban market'.

The agreement was signed by Garcia Millan and de Figuelmon, in a ceremony that became the official inauguration of the Cuban stand in the space Collectivities which will extend until tomorrow.

At the ceremony were present Cuban deputies Mariela Castro and Jorge Gomez, as well as the representatuive of the International Relations Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Juan Valdés.

For the hosting country attended the national secretary of the Communist Party of France (PCF), Pierre Laurent, the president of the parliamentary group of friendship France-Cuba, Andres

Chassaigne; Finance responsible of the PCF, Andrés Negre; and the president of Cuba Cooperation, Víctor Fernández.

The activity, with a wide presence of French entrepreneurs, was accompanied by a Cuban musical group and couples that danced to the rhythm of traditional genres like the son and cha-cha-cha.
