The rhythm of the drums and the joy of the children took over the streets of the Loma del Chivo barrio in the Guantanamo City, where the fifth edition of the Children's Rumba Festival was held to celebrate 57th and 58th anniversaries of the Pioneers´s Organization José Martí and the Cuban Young Communists League (UJC), respectively.
Within the party, organized in the park Elio Revé Matos by the community project Patio de Adela and the UJC, the 12-years-old-girl Adalia Terry Milton and her brother Xavier, of 6 years, won for the fifth time the only category of the competition of rumba dancers: the applause of the public.
On the other hand, Irina de la Mercedes Sanchez Ross, of 4 years, also won among a dozen little dancers that join the competition the childhood rejoicing and the contagious music, performed by the group Aché Iré that recently celebrated its 7th years of foundation.
The activity was also enlivened by the children's company La Colmenita de Guantánamo, led by Xiomara Solis, who received the recognition of the Provincial Center of Community Culture, as well as Neobelis Duporté (El Chino de la rumba), the director of Aché Iré.
The conga of La Loma could not miss the festivity, which promotes the Patio de Adela as an identity element of the multicultural neighborhood downtown, the birthplace of figures of Cuban culture, such as the musician Elio Revé Matos, the tres player Reyes Latamblé Veranes (Chito) and the experienced painter Oscar Nelsón.
