With a sui generis award in charge of children in Guantanamo that conferred laureates to the work El Círculo Chino, performed by the Guiñol Theater company form Cienfuegos and the character Cucarachita Martina by Polichinela, the fifth Titereando en la Ciudad Encounter concluded in this city.
This biannual meeting is not competitive but within the particularities of the event the recognition to the best staging of the day was recognized, a responsibility that fell to small artists, oral narrators and members of the Colmenita Guantanamo Children's Company and Guiñol Theater.
During the closing of the encounter, the Provincial Council of Performing Arts honored the puppeteer, actress and theater director Maribel López Carcasés, for her four and a half decades of artistic life, as well as the Guiñol Guantanamo on its forty-eight anniversary.
The territorial branch of the Saíz Brothers Association (AHS) recognized the national and foreign groups leading the event, including Titeres Arlequin and Guiar Theater Company, both from Colombia, together with the Niumpaloal'Arte group from Spain and Teatro Ríos, from Guantanamo.
The group Mi Tumbao enlivened with its melodies the last day of the fifth Titereando en la Ciudad Encounter with a concert at the House of the Young Creator, which aroused corridors of young and experienced theater players who gathered the event in the easternmost province of Cuba.
