Showy allegories to China, guest of the twenty-seventh issue of the Cuba 2018 Book Fair, as traditional drumbeats and dance moves of the Dragon, distinguished opening gala of the Guantanamo chapter of literary festival, which began on this side of the country from April 11th to the 15th.
During the opening event, troubadour Josue Oliva, the Guantanamo Men´s Choir and Danza Libre Company remembered poet Regino Eladio Boti, whom the provincial fair dedicates this issue, for the 140th anniversary of his birth; as well as Dr. Eusebio Leal Spengler, with the performance of one of the distinctive songs of his hometown, Sábanas Blancas.
In this context, representatives of the Cuban Book Institute (ICL) gave La puerta de Papel recognition to El Mar y la Montaña Publisher, for having one of the best publications within the territorial cataloge; Historia de amor de una perra de pelea, by the writer Yunier Riquenes.
The office of periodicals pertaining to the aforementioned national literary institution, feted the Guantanamo magazine El Mar y la Montaña, a cultural showcase of the province, an award received by the writer and editor José Raúl Fraguela on behalf of this group.
Eldys Baratute Benavides, president of the Saiz Brothers Association in from the territory, said the official opening words of the 27th chapter of the Book Fair in Guantanamo, inviting their countrymen to become active participants in this cultural event for five days and enjoy the pleasure that reading provides.
