The Minister of Culture in Cuba, Abel Prieto Jiménez, along with the political and government authorities in Guantanamo, visited some exhibition, sales and artistic institutions of this eastern territory during the first day of the twenty-seventh provincial chapter of the 2018 Book Fair, which opened its doors from this April 11 through 15.
The headquarters of the Cuban Association of Writers and Artists (UNEAC), the Cochero Azul Children´s Library and the Guantanamo Exhibition Hall were some of the sites visited by the top representative of the sector, places where he exchanged with workers and inquired about the literary proposals offered to the public not only in the context of the feast of letters.
In the Rubén López Sabariego House of Culture, the Tesoro de Papel Children´s Hall witnessed the performance of the La Colmenita Theater Group in Guantanamo, while in this place he visited the Arab Room, a space in which he also exhorted to the preservation of identity musical genres like changüí and to cultivate from the autochthony the aesthetic taste of children with coherent work strategies.
The Benito Odio House of Trova, the Computer Palace and the Asdrubal López Library were other coordinates of the visits, in this last site he went to the shelf of the Guantanamo El Mar y la Montaña publishing house, which this time presents more than ten literary novelties.
As part of his visit to the easternmost of the Cuban provinces during the celebration of the twenty-seventh Book Fair in Guantanamo, the Minister of Culture Abel Prieto Jiménez will preside at the Sculptural Complex Mariana Grajales Plaza de la Revolución, the homage panel to Doctor Eusebio Leal Spengler, an intellectual to whom this presentation of the literary event is dedicated.
