From September 19 to 23, the stages and public spaces of Guantanamo host the performances of the second SaltaPalabra Biennial, a festival aimed at preserving oral narration and incorpotating new generations into this ancient way of making art.
The Guantanamo actor Ury Rodríguez tells that in the first day of the event at the Campanario room, the children Felipo and Fernando Velásquez Rodríguez and María José Vizcaíno Campo stood out, together with the young Yanet Nápoles, from the Dramatico group, from Guantanamo, besides the most experienced storyteller as Tomás Pantoja, Gertrudis Campo, from Teatro Guiñol, and Virgina López, from La Barca, who showed their skills in acting and as communicators.
"Those who attended the room left very happy," said the actor, who is one of the organizers of the event.
For his part, Fermín López Hernández, director of "Palabras al viento", from Holguín, said: "It was a very pleased show because we saw for sure the relief of the oral narration in Guantanamo. "

The artist from Holguin with his partner Yordany Sera will present the shows "En mí toda" and "Confesión en la barra", respectively, at Teatro Guiñol and also they will tell stories of Guantanamo writers as Eldys Baratute, Ana Luz García, Rafael González, among others
On the spaces dedicated to the debate of the art of telling stories, the artists will analyze the relationship between the narrator and the writer so that the work can be improved in the voice of the storytellers.

The Saltapalabra event features the participation of Fátima Patterson, National Theater Award and director of the Macubá group, from Santiago de Cuba; Catalejos de cuentos, of Camagüey. and theater groups of the territory such as Lengua Suelta, of the Baracoa Municipality, and La Barca, of the easternmost capital city of Cuba.
The second Bienal de Saltapalabra organizes a program for audiences of all ages at the Teatro Guiñol de Guantanamo, the Campanario Room, the UNEAC courtyard, the Conrado Benítez day-school, the Alfredo Velázquez Dance School, the Stone Zoo, the Community of Alto de Boquerón, in the municipality of Manuel Tames; as well as the Border Brigade, Antonio Maceo Order.
