A critical look at the publishing labels of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS) was the first theoretical and debate activity of the seventh edition of the La Isla en Peso Meeting, which began in the Guantanamo City on January 15 and will extend until the next day 18, to promote the literary creation of young artists from all over the country.
Cecilia Elías and José Raúl Fraguela, representatives of the territorial publishing house El Mar y la Montaña were in charge of the panel in which new and renown writers analyzed the the work of the AHS labels, their management in the positioning of proposals of quality and in the rescue of the Cuban and universal literary heritage.
The need to maintain an attractive aesthetic of the book as a cultural product became another of the approaches of the panelists, while the guests emphasized the importance of entering the publishing world with coherent communication and promotion strategies.
The Literary Meeting La Isla en Peso will grant this 2019 the homonymous shcolarship, for which ten young poets are nominated, and they come from Havana, Pinar del Rio, Holguin, Camagüey, Ciego de Ávila and Guantanamo according to the deliberations of the jury until now.
