The Colloquium "Art and Identity", dedicated this time to the office of construction and repair of musical instruments, is one of the initiatives proposed by the House of Culture "Rubén López Sabariego", during the activities of the Guantanamo Culture Week 2019. scheduled from February 16 to 24.
The meeting, which will take place on the 23rd, calls for the socialization between researchers and promoters of the Cultural Heritage of the territory, in the panel "The art of building musical instruments. Challenges and solutions ", which will have the presence of recognized Guantanamo luthiers like Antonio Monier, Sigfredo Taquechel, Adam Portilla, Andrés Fitó (Tabera), José López (Pepe).
Also the day, which allows the identification of expressions of the Intangible Heritage of Guantanamo, organizes the conversation "Instrumental solutions for congas formats", represented by musical directors of comparsas and congas that enliven the carnival parties.
The third edition of the Colloquium Art and Identity concludes with a tour to historical and cultural sites of the province such as the Rubén López Sabariego Culture House, the Plaza 24 de Febrero, the Pedro Agustín Pérez Museum House and the world-famous Stone Zoo, created by the sculptor Ángel Iñigo.
