As part of the 40th chapter of the Guantanamo Culture Week, which is celebrated in the territory from February 18 to 24, the inauguration of the Photo Exhibition "Faces of Light," by Victor Batista Matos (Vitiko), took place at the Antón Morales Gallery of the Provincial Council of Plastic Arts.
A collection of 73 pictures to well-known intellectuals and artists of the territory makes up the exhibition, which reveals as admiration the every physiognomy of the Guantanamo culture in each photograph that records a gesture, the moment of the creative act or the expression of gratitude, while taking pictures in fraganti..
Faces of Light is a testimonial trace of the work of emblematic Guantanamo artists such as Reynaldo Heredia, Rafael Pacheco, Xiomara Solis, Rafael Gonzalez, George Perez, Martha Reyes, Juan Guilarte, Marlene Salazar, Martha Beatriz Rodríguez and creators from other provinces who also share the creative work, among them Ernesto Cuesta and José Raúl Fraguela.
In a period of time from 2008 to the present, Víctor Batista (Vitiko), photographer of the Provincial Department of Culture, leaves graphic evidence of how much the artists of this region do to feed from the art the spirit of their counterparts through the faces displayed in this his first personal exhibition.
