For the next 2020 International Book Fair, the several-award-winning writer, Eldys Baratute Benavides, from Guantanamo will present two new titles, the book Te llamas Ignacio, a literary tribute of this author to Ignacio Villa, called Bola de Nieve, as well as the Temporada de Héroes, a book that collects stories about important personalities of the Cuban history.
This renowned narrator told the press that his book dedicated to Ignacio Villa, an icon of the Cuban music, was published by El Mar y la Montaña Editorial House, with illustrations by Dagnae Tomás, who also made the designs of his text En la sombra del León, which will be published by Matanzas Editions.
Similarly, Eldys Baratute said that his new book Temporada de Héroes, launched by the Abril Editorial House, intends in an emotional way to bring the Cuban public closer to the lives of significant historical personalities, such as Mariana Grajales, José Martí, the Mambí Manuel Rodríguez, Celia Sánchez and Ernesto Guevara, by means of a series of stories, supported by a 4-year research process.
Within the literary panorama, the participation of this Guantanamo writer also stands out, also as the winner of the awards Calendario (2005), La Rosa Blanca (2007) and Orígenes (2008), as a jury of the 2019 edition of the Hispano-American Writers Meeting, which will take place in the Santa Clara City, from September 17 to 21.
On the other hand, the 2010 book, Los Gnomos están tristes brings satisfactions also to this prolific Guantanamo writer, with the adaptation of the play Niños de Papel by the Teatro Guiñol Guantánamo, which will represent Cuba at the 2019 FITA CHILE Iberoamerican Market Fair of the Performing Arts for Children and Youth.
