Guantanamo Hosts the 8th Literary Festival La Isla en Peso

Guantanamo young writersWith a combination of troubadours’ songs and poetry readings, the eighth edition of the Literary Festival La Isla en Peso began in the Guantanamo City, an event sponsored by the Saíz Brothers Association (AHS) of the territory from January 15 to 17.

A poetry recital performed by the members of the Grafomanía Project, marked the opening of the event, of which the guest writers, Reynaldo Zaldívar, from the Holguín Province, along with Onel Pérez and Jorge Legrá, were also representing the Contramaestre municipality in Santiago de Cuba.

The Literary Festival La Isla en Peso is dedicated to the young poetic creation of the eastern country and to the prominent Santiago de Cuba writer Eduard Encina; and will also have as a novelty this 2020 the socialization of the "Nuevas Voces" package, which promotes works of the Cuban new writers.
