The Cuban Association of Writers and Artists in Guantanamo (UNEAC) announced the nominees for the Guamo prize, an award given by the institution on March 31 at the Antonia Luisa Cabal Concert Hall, in recognition of the results of their creative work of the year 2017.
A large program of activities on the International Theater Day that includes award ceremony, colloquiums and performance, will be held in Guantanamo from next Friday to Sunday, as it is celebrated every March 27 to recognize actors and actresses of the world and promote a culture of peace.
The Guantanamo province will host the Boti-Guillén National Colloquium from February 28 to March 3, an event dedicated to preserving the memory of those two great Cuban intellectuals, the Guantanamo Regino Eladio Boti and the Camagüey Nicolás Guillén.
Typical Cuban melodies and Son were played in the tribute concert on the 25 years of the Guantanamo septet Universales del Son, with the participation of local groups that pleased the public gathered outside of the House of Trova “Benito Odio,” in the city of Guantanamo.

The Uruguayan Theater Company Amares Social Clown arrived in the city of Guantanamo in the frame of the city's season named “Va Riendo el Guaso”, before leaving for the mountains of the region to also offer their art along with the Guantánamo- Baracoa Theater Crusade.
