US actor Danny Glover said on Wednesday in Cienfuegos that he is grateful of the Cuban people’s generosity during a visit to the Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, ICAP.

The seventh issue of the Encounter of Voices sponsored by the Music Branch of the Cuban Association of Writers and Artists, UNEAC, in Guantanamo will especially honor the 30 years of this Organization during  January 18 through 20, motivated by the promotion of vocal music and the work of its groups in this Eastern city.

This coming February 9, the 26th International Book Fair of Havana will be inaugurated at the city's San Carlos de la Cabaña Fortress, with more than 700 new editions and four million copies on hand. The celebration of reading will continue in Havana through the 19th, and across the island through April 16, with events in all provinces.

Alberto Luberta Noy, who is a prestigious director and writer of programs for the Cuban radio and the creator of the local program entitled "Alegrías de Sobremesa" of the Radio Progreso station, was granted the commemorative medal for the 60th anniversary of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) by the Cuban State Council.

Out of the contest, the 38 th International Latin American Film of Havana city shows the Panamanian full-length film entitled ´Salsipuedes´ by the Centro American Ricardo Aguilar Navarro and the Cuban film director Manuel Rodríguez.
