On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the dedication of the Caribbean Festival to the Dominican Republic for the first time, artists of that nation will be honored in a special way during the 36th edition of that meeting, which has the city of Santiago de Cuba as its venue.

The orchestra Los Van Van monopolizes today the attention of all Cuban music lovers during its US tour, when it will be performing in more than 10 cities in addition to Puerto Rico.

Alicia Alonso, the Cuban prima ballerina absolute, will arrive today in Puerto Rico along with the Cuban National Ballet for a performance this weekend at the Fine Arts Center of San Juan.

According to the Havana City Historian’s Office it has been a genuine pleasure to bring together the people of Cuba and Belgium through our cooperative efforts, stated Havana City Historian, Eusebio Leal Spengler, June 1, upon receiving the Order of Leo­pol­d, the highest civil and military distinction awarded by the Kingdom of Belgium.

The Cuban music band Buena Fe will come for the first time to the US cities of Tampa, Houston and New York, where the tickets for that tour taking place by the end of this month are already available. On June 25, the band will be at the James L. Knight Center in Miami, where they have already performed before.
