The Cuban duo, made up by the Guantanamo Yanileydis Sánchez and Lidiannys Echevarría, won the silver medal at 2019 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour, after losing 0-2 to the North American couple Corinne Quiggle and Falyn Fonoimoama.
According to the Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation website, the Cubans fell in the final, in an undefeated match, against the Americans, who scored 12-21 and 20-22, in 34 minutes of tourmament, based in Hato Mayor, Dominican Republic.
With this result, Sánchez and Echevarría matched the performance achieved in the previous stop that took place also in the Dominican nation, but in Boca Chica, where they made their debut in the current circuit.
On that occasion, the Cuban duo was defeated 0-2 (13-21 and 21-13) in the final by the also American Kerri Walsh Jennings, three-time Olympic champion, and her current partner Brooke Sweat.
The Canadian pair, made of Megan Nash and Alexandra Peletto won the bronze medal, after defeating 2-0 (21-11 and 21-16) the Costa Rica's Mariela Quesada and Katherine Quesada.
