As presenting the first concert under the baton of Pablo Diaz Manzanares, the young Director of the Lyric Group Alberto Davalos of the territory, expressed his satisfaction and commitment to continue defending the project that urges new changes, theatrical sense and conquest of the public outside the traditional stage and in other parts of the country.
In that sense the soprano Vilma Alvarez Ramirez and pianist Glenda Brau Pardo, both of the Lyric Theater of Santiago de Cuba, thanked the invitation and offered their gathering in the Hero City to return the gesture of the Cuban Artists and Writers Association (UNEAC, in Spanish) at the eastern end of the island.
Baritone Ernesto Johnston believes that it is necessary to move the means of development so that the people know the scope of opera in this part of the nation, by staging operas, operettas, songs and other genres of well-known vernacular and classical authors, including Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
The Festival of Voices, the first cultural event of 2016 in Guantanamo, presents on Thursday, also in the Concert Hall Antonia Luisa Cabal, a concert by the Quartet Vidas, while the closing ceremony will be on Friday at 8 pm at the Provincial Museum.
