Yadira Ruiz Juan, Dean of the Institution, told the press that these fresh and sophomore students of the University of Medical Sciences were previously trained, as part of the school curriculum implemented in the institution to train them in various related themes of General Medicine.
She also added that this group identified with the name of University Focal Brigade will work as a duet in Caimanera, Manuel Tames and Guantanamo, municipalities that report higher rates of infestation, and will also have the help of students of technical specialty of Hygiene and Vector Control, who transmit their experiences in the actions carried out against the genus Aedes mosquitoes.
With About 2000 students from the University of Medical Sciences in Guantanamo involved in the Mosquito Control Operation during a week, the territory should minimize the chances of getting dengue and zika virus, among other diseases transmitted by the Aedes Aegypti mosquito.
