This work, located in the community of Marrón, over 550 meters above sea level, costed 130 000 Cuban pesos and about 90 000 in Cuban Convertible Currency, explained Fermín Lobaina García, the provincial chief of the Division of Radio Cuba.
He also said that about 800 residents of Cajobabo right now receive programming of 6 TV channels and 9 national radio stations and access to the Ecured data base among other services that reach other nearby neighborhoods.
The engineer Lobaina Garcia said the work began to run from last November and includes a 30 –meters- high- AT-35 tower, the broadcast booth, perimeter fencing and a power line, with its transformers.
The 150- watts- UHF transmitter power, using the Chinese DTMB standard, the digital television standard adopted in Cuba, as well as general electrical board, backup power batteries and air conditioners.
This year, in addition to the construction of this modern center of digital terrestrial television in Cajobabo,it is expected to build other stations that will benefit to the towns of Hatibonico in Caimanera and Costa Rica, from El Salvador in 2017, where they are already preparing investments .
