The results in the implementation of the Guidelines for Economic and Social Policy, as essential step to update the Cuban economic model will be analyzed during the sessions of the Seventh Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) that from 16 to 19 this month will gather in Havana nearly a thousand delegates, including 38 Guantanamo delegates.
The results in the implementation of the Guidelines for Economic and Social Policy, as essential step to update the Cuban economic model will be analyzed during the sessions of the Seventh Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) that from 16 to 19 this month will gather in Havana nearly a thousand delegates, including 38 Guantanamo delegates.
The delegation of this territory that also includes three guests, is made up of activists from all municipalities in the province from almost all sectors like agriculture, Health, Education, political bodies, the Services; in addition to the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Interior Ministry.
Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, vice president of the Councils of State and Ministers, the General Comptroller of the Republic, Gladys Maria Bejerano Portela, the first secretary of PCC in Guantanamo, Denny Legrá Azahares, the President of the Provincial Assembly of People's Power, Nancy Acosta Hernandez, Osmel de la Cruz Cala, director of the Coffee Processing Plant "Alto Serra", the Imías Jesus Puente Hernandez, Francisco Acosta Acosta, head of the PCC of Manuel Tames, and the Niceto Perez’s farmer Juan Otilio Dominguez Torres are some of the delegates of this territory.
The delegation is also made of the biomedical equipment technician Yordanis Miller Florian, Rafael Pérez Fernández, the First Secretary of the PCC in the provincial capital, Martin Martin Cala of the Day School Viet Nam Heroic, Yateras teacher Daima Ruiz Campos and Idaliena Diaz Casamayor, an Art Instructor that currently serves as President of Sur- Hospital neighborhood, one of the most populous barrio of the city and who is also the youngest to attend the meeting, among others who were elected by their labor and social merits.
During discussions participants will reflect about what still needs to be done regarding the political forefront as the leading force of society and the state, the necessary correction methods and style of work, changing mindsets to move forward, the urgency of the institutionalization of the country and assess the impacts of socioeconomic measures implemented since the previous Congress to date as an expression of the people's will, updating the Cuban economic model to ensure continuity and irreversibility of Socialism, the country's development and improvement of quality of life of the population, combined with the inevitable formation of ethical and political values of all citizens.
The Seventh Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba will be in a unique historical context characterized by the implementation of an action group on the way to the normalization of relations with the government of the United States and will be ideal scenario to ratify the socialist character our Revolution proclaimed by Fidel Castro that April 16, 1961, a date which marks the founding of the CCP and urged the people to defend the sovereignty that was attacked during the days of the mercenary Bay of Pigs invasion and culminated with the first major defeat of Imperialism in Latin America.
