Clean agricultural production, soil care and savings to the economy are some of the values of organic fertilizers produced at the Guantánamo Soil Station, which during the past year produced about 4,000 kilograms of various products aimed at agriculture.
This scientific unit makes Rhizobium, Fosforina and Azotobacter solid, fertilizers that substitute imports and support in the province the production of grains for human and animal consumption, among other crops.
In this sense, it is highlighted the delivery of the Rhizobium fertilizer to the Seeds Company and cooperatives of El Salvador and Niceto Pérez municipalities linked to the World Food Program, which strengthens the bean value chain and encourages the production of this highly- protein -food.
Dania Rodríguez Mestre, in charge of the laboratory of the Guantanamo Soil Station, specifies that fertilizers like Fosforina substitute mineral fertilization, while azotobacter is useful for all crops.
The agrofertilizers improves assimilation of nutrients to plants, decontaminate the soil and the water, they increase harvest yields and provide a greater resistance to the attacks of pests and diseases
