In order to minimize the outbreaks of Aedes Aegypti mosquito, the political authorities in the municipality of Guantanamo gave the Cuban flag to the contingent Ernesto Guevara de la Serna, made up of officers and soldiers of the reserve of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, who will apply adulticidal treatment in the present intense campaign against the vector.
In order to minimize the outbreaks of Aedes Aegypti mosquito, the political authorities in the municipality of Guantanamo gave the Cuban flag to the contingent Ernesto Guevara de la Serna, made up of officers and soldiers of the reserve of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, who will apply adulticidal treatment in the present intense campaign against the vector.
Accompanied by health personnel during six weeks, brigades made up of two hundred mobilized will work in the neighborhoods Norte, Centro and Sur, the highest- risk- areas in the city of Guantanamo, where they expect to daily monitor one hundred houses and other locals.
Major José Rodríguez De la Cruz, representing the group, expressed the willingness to fulfill the mission with responsibility to reduce the presence of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito in the territory and thus prevent the dengue, Zika and Chikungunya virus, circulating diseases in several countries of America that have a close relationship with Cuba.
Dr. Arianna Benech Jiménez, Provincial Director of Vector Control, explained the need for quality adulticide treatment in the municipalities of Niceto Pérez, El Salvador, Caimanera, Manuel Tames and Baracoa.
Similarly, Dr. Benech urged to carry out environmental sanitation in all communities in the province mainly on high- risk- blocks, a task that will promote the effectiveness of the current intensive campaign in favor of the health of all.
