A total of 40 prominent Guantanamo people will exhibit at the door of their home the plaque"Trincheras de la Cultura", awarded by the union that groups writers and artists in the territory, about its fortieth anniversary.
Susana Orphe Montoya, Secretary General of the Union of Culture in this province, explained that the plaque recognizes the work and social life of workers of the guild in the neighborhood where they reside, with the aim of highlighting the creative work of artists beyond institutions and centers.
The homes of writer Ana Luz García Calzada, musicologist José Cuenca, artistic director Lázaro McPherson and art instructor Xiomara Solís already have the plaque "Trincheras de la Cultura", a recognition given by leaders and unionists until the end of this year.
In almost all the municipalities of the territory, state and private workers will receive for the first time in their communities the commemorative plaque for the 40th anniversary of the Union of Workers of Culture, a movement that groups in the province more than five thousand Guantanamo members.
