“The Cuban working class has compelling reasons and arguments to celebrate united the Workers' Day ... giving to the world the message of unity around the Revolution, Fidel and Raul" said Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, leader of the Cuban workers Federation.
Guilarte also added that "the strong solidarity of the Cuban Revolution to the Bolivarian Revolution ... and absolute loyalty to the memory of Hugo Chavez, Cuba's best friend".
Millions of Cubans woke up earlier today than ever, with many motivations and great enthusiasm, and took the country´s streets and main avenues to celebrate May Day, the International Workers' Day.
The great May Day mobilization, the Workers´ Day, held every year in Cuba, has for the first time the participation of 28 countries in Latin America and 68 worldwide. The general secretary of the Cuban Workers' Federation (CTC), Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, said the parade had a "compact, colorful and combative" character.
The event had the presence of United States, although the meeting focuses on the support of the Cuban archipelago to Venezuela facing the US government sanctions against the South American nation.
