Young Graduates of the Guantanamo Medical Sciences Receive their Titles

With the handing of the graduate certificate to more than six hundred students from the University of Medical Sciences of Guantanamo, the territory incorporates into the ranks of the white-coat army to provide services unconditionally anywhere in the world, overcoming the obstacles and demonstrating the solid preparation that they received in the institution.

During the graduation ceremony held on 24de Febrero Park in the city,the winners of the Scientific Merit Prize, the graduates with honor diploma, the members of the detachment Dr. Mario Muñoz Monroy, as well as the most outstanding and integral students were awarded.

Dr Akine Abdallah of Comoros, representing the 58 fellows of Latin American nations and the African continent, thanked the government of the country for the possibility of studying and ratified the will of the Historical Leader of the Revolution Fidel Castro, the main promoter of solidarity medical and international exchange programs that allowed him to become a doctor for the welfare of the world's dispossessed.

Similarly, the most comprehensive graduate in teaching and research and with a mark of 5.38 points, Dr. Elizabeth Castelvi Martínez expressed her commitment to practice the profession with dignity, ethics and love in order to highlight the name of Cuba, an important referring to the training of health professionals.

They also were acknowledged by the Rector of the UCM Nuria Pérez Delgado, the PhDs. Alfredo Pardo Fernandez, Rolando Durand Rill and Zulema de la Caridad Matos Columbié who contribute to the formation of new doctors and to the training of professionals.

 Emotional was the presence of the Hero of the Republic of Cuba Gerardo Hernández Nordelo, who exhorted the graduates to fulfill their profession under all circumstances, while receiving from the President of the Municipal Assembly, Henry Rodriguez Terrero a replica of La Fama, the symbol of the city.

That was the 35th graduation ceremony of the University of Medical Sciences of Guantanamo and it was marked by the National Rebellion Day, the 50th anniversary of the assassination of the Heroic Guerrilla Ernesto Guevara and the homage to the historical leader of the Revolution Fidel Castro.
