Traditional music and Cuban humor were part of the opening gala of these festivities with the presentations of the groups like Los Guasoneros, Moneda Nacional Septet, Guajiro y su Changüí. The Komotu humor group; Ramon Mustelier, Juan Carlos Aliaga and Víctor Rojas (El Primo) multiplied smiles in Guantanamo.
Arlenis Rodriguez, Yaima Saenz, Waldo Mendoza and Miss Dayana also shared during these first day, well known themes from their repertoire such as Sangre Latina, Mazucamba, Quien y A ti lo que te duele, songs that made a lot of the audience dance in this eastern land.
The dance section of the show was in charge of the Santiago de Cuba Tropicana Cabaret, with a wide choreographic display of attractive movements and colorful costumes, as well as the Babul Folkloric Ballet Company of this territory.
Colors, Cuban identity and tradition distinguished the opening gala of the 2017Guantánamo Carnival, with the title A ritmo de mi rumbon, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Cuban Association of Writers and Artists in Guantanamo, the 55 years of the Young Communist League and Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
