The Timbalaye International Project will have in Guantanamo, next August 30, the last stop of its ninth issue of the Rumba Route, with a great celebration whose performers will be this Afrocuban sonority, declared intangible heritage of humanity.
The Guantanamo festivity will resound around the emblematic area of the traditions, located in the popular neighborhood of Loma del Chivo, where children of the socio-cultural project Patio of Adela and the ensembles of the genus Akokán Aché, Obbá Ilú and Rumba Guaso will meet.
As part of the presentation of the international project in this province a space of theoretical exchange will also take place to socialize research concerning the imprint of this genre on this side of the island, territory that has nine rumba groups and strong musical traditions of this nature.
The path of the ninth issue of the Timbalaye Festival in Guantanamo will become a popular celebration to share with the people and foreign observers, who will meet here, identify cultural expressions to the rhythm of rumba.
