Taking into account that in the next 12 to 24 hours Irma will keep similar course and speed, it was decided to establish the Alert Phase for the provinces of Guantanamo, Santiago de Cuba, Granma, Holguin, Las Tunas, Camagüey, Ciego de Avila and Villa Clara. Maintain the Information Phase for Sancti Spíritus, Cienfuegos and Matanzas. The provinces of Havana and Mayabeque remain alert to the information of the Weather Forecast Institute.
State bodies and agencies, economic entities and social institutions in the provinces that move to the Alert Phase must comply with the measures provided for in their respective disaster reduction plans and increase hydrometeorological surveillance and assess the modeling of possible impacts.
The population is guided to be informed about the evolution of this hurricane through the Tropic Cyclone Notices issued by the Weather Forecast Institute and the orientations of the Civil Defense and to comply with the measures indicated by the local authorities.
