The direct incidence of the constant rains caused floods in the communities of Alegría, Bamba, Felicidad and Madre Vieja, the latter registered severe damage in its roads, sewers, light covers and state institutions.
Yateras municipality is cut off by the rivers flood, while settlers do not have the electrical and telephone service, due to system failures caused by the impact of Irma.
The Alegría community reports damage in the Ernesto Guevara de la Serna Mixed School, in several houses, as well as in the Coffee Plant pertaining to this community, due to the Toa River´s flood and strong winds.
Similar damage is perceived in Palenque, La Carolina and in the specific case of the community of Las Municiones, the community television room suffered affectations in its cover, although the damages of the powerful meteorological event are still quantified in the rest of the communities.
The major impacts in this mountain range are concentrated in agriculture, with losses of banana, cassava and cabbage crops, as well as substantial damages in fields of beans and coffee plantations, due to the fall of trees and heavy rains.
Due to the increase in the flow of La Cadena River, located in the community of Felicidad, there were significant floods in the community of Yateritas, pertaining to the municipality of San Antonio del Sur, where all the residents of the low areas, were evacuated according to Elnis Cilet, member of the Municipal Defense Council.
