Photo Exhibition Honors Retired Journalists in Guantanamo

Exhibition on Guantanamo retired journalists The inauguration of the traveling photo exhibition "Ellos, los indispensables,” started in the Guantanamo Province on occasion of the Cuban Press Day.

 

The series consists of thirty-three photographs that show important moments of the work of veteran Guantanamo journalists.

Among them, Agustín Pérez Hechavarría, Leonel Pérez Moya, Pablo Soroa Fernández, Marta Reyes Noa and the late Nelsa Luque López.

The exhibition that is a tribute to the retirees of the sector, from next week will tour the eight grass-root delegations of the Cuban Journalist Association (UPEC) in the province.

The UPEC president Taimí Fernández Pérez, in the opening informed that other activities will be held here on the Cuban Press Day, such as the Youth Crusade.

This will be developed in El Aguacate, mountainous area of the current El Salvador Municipality, where sixty years ago it was founded the first Frank País Second Eastern Front, of the Rebel Army, led by the then Commander Raúl Castro Ruz.
