Maguana Touristic Complex in BaracoaGuantanamo has five of the 456 projects registered in the Portfolio of Opportunities for Foreign Investment in the country, which represents a new possibility to attract profit businesses in favor of the progress of the province and the nation.

With an amount of capital up to 83 million dollars and a well-defined development strategy, territorial purposes predominate in the sectors of tourism, agriculture, forestry and food.

For the foreign market and the domestic confectionery industry, one of the projects aims at the production and trade of some 500 tons of fine cocoa obtained in the municipality of Baracoa, where this crop and its processing will be considerably supported.

This line of production also involves management contract, the technical assistance to ensure efficiency in the management of an industrially capitalized factory.

In the forestry sector, Guantanamo opts for financing for the production of flowers and ornamental plants that will substitute imports, supply the national market and at the same time to export them to new markets.
Cuba’s foreign investment also includes in Guantanamo the production of pork for the marketing of finished products.

On the other hand, to meet the growing demands of the development of the leisure industry, the construction of high-end hotels and villas in the tourist center of Guantanamo and the creation of a network of eco-accommodation for nature tourism is planned.
