Brigades of the Integral Construction Company of Guantanamo, Guanco, work on the foundations of four-storey-buildings and eight Forsa technology homes in the settlements of Mabujabo and El Turey, in the Baracoa City, as part of the recovery after the passing of the Hurricane Matthew.
Hortencio Romero Rivero, deputy director of the housing program in the province and investor of the process, explained that they progress in preparing the ground to build this type of buildings also in the Cabacú, Bacanera and Van Van towns.
Meanwhile, in the area of Paso de Cuba, where since last year it is built for those who lost their homes or live in areas very vulnerable to floods and penetrations from the sea, they foreseen the construction of another three buildings and 15 houses.
In addition to Forsa technology that is preferred for its simple mounting and resistance to extreme weather events and earthquakes, the housing system in the province invests in the construction of 38 petrocasas, especially in the settlement of Limonar in Punta de Maisí.
The main delays to date in the investments related to the recovery of more than 8000 houses demolished by Matthew, the official ratified, the limited availability of aggregates and wall materials supplied by the provincial company of construction materials.
