Some 4,000 tons of asphalt will be paved this year in 3 kilometers of the Guantanamo stretch of the national highway as part of a paving program to improve the roadway in the island, said Francisco Hernández Guibert, deputy director of the provincial road center.
This month the work of patching and paving four centimeters of asphalt on the kilometer 3 of the southern way will begin, which will continue by ministerial indication in the coming years to complete both paths of the 24.6 kilometers of that road that belongs to the Province.
The program has a budget of over 800 thousand pesos, which will be executed during two months by a brigade of the Abilio Fragosa contingent, of the Guantanamo Integral Construction Company, Guanco, said Hernández Guibert
Finally, the engineer assured that the Guantanamo section of the national highway that runs from the junction of the La Yaya dam to the Rotonda del Caribe, is in good technical condition, to whose conservation the new national program should contribute.
