“We make Cuba" is the motto of the campaign to mark the 57th anniversary of the José Martí Children´s Organization (OPJM) and 56th of the Young Communist League (UJC), whose central provincial rally will be held in San Antonio del Sur, next April 4.
Bárbara Simonó Brooks, official of the provincial committee of the UJC, pointed out that for the celebrations different initiatives were organized, including the delivery of the membership card to new members of the organization, which amounts to more than 12,500 militants in the territory.
Gastronomic offers and cultural projects will be provided at the Elpidio Valdés Children's Park as well as handicrafts exhibitions, sale of books, and office supplies; shows at universities and other student centers; sports festivals, camping, exhibitions of club of interest and scientific societies in the 870 grass-root-committees.
Simonó Brooks said that the 4 de Abril distinction will be awarded to outstanding pioneers and guides; They will recognize student and youth movements, such as the University Student Federation (FEU), the Hermanos Saíz Association and the José Martí Brigade, as well as the best young people in each sector and the general secretaries with excellent results.
The activities of celebration will be from today March 31 and until April 4, dedicated to the IX Congress of the FEU and motivated by the 60th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution, 90 of the birth of Ernesto Che Guevara, the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the wars of independence and 165 of the birth of José Martí.
