With the purpose of promoting the vocational training of students in Guantanamo, pertaining to technical education, it was held the Eighth Provincial Agricultural Teaching Fair this weekend.
Liset Barnes Allah, head of the Department of Technical Professional Education in the province, said that the 167 students from all municipalities showed through theoretical and practical exams the knowledge acquired in the specialties of Agronomy, Veterinary-Zootechnics and Forestry.
The event also allowed young people to show professional skills, including the manipulation of animals in farming, sowing and harvesting using ecological techniques as well as the use of methods to estimate and calculate area, said the specialist.
The participating teachers also presented demonstrative methodological classes of practical subjects in which they grafted plants and clinically examined animals, in addition to milking them manually.
The best teacher and the three winning students of the Provincial Agricultural Teaching Fair will participate in the National Fair to take place in the province of Cienfuegos in May.
