The Last Stage Construction of Bridge on The Toa River Begins

Toa River in Baracoa, GuantanamoThe construction of the bridge over the Toa river in this municipality, located on the northeast of the country in the Guantanamo Province, entered the final stage of its completion with the arrival of the last forty special steel bars for the construction of its metallic structure.

 

Its quick location on site, by workers from the construction companies of Guantanamo and Moa, allowed the group of the International Civic-Military Rescue and Humanitarian Assistance Brigade 'Simón Bolívar' to begin the assembly that starts on Wednesday.

The execution of the viaduct over the Toa river is more than eighty percent and with the entry of the forty bars and other components that were missing, the work receives an important boost and may be concluded at the end of the first semester of this year.

In the section that already has the metal structure on the side that gives access to the Moa Municipality, in Holguin, they are working on the placement of bridge boards, slabs, pedestrian walkways and railings.

In addition to these works and the beginning of the assembly of the metal structures, builders of Guantanamo and Moa make up the two embankments to approach the new bridge that will be 223 meters long, 11 meters wide and three meters taller than the previous one.
