With more than 30 thousand magnetic cards in circulation and 900 customers using software for remote banking in mobiles, both by digital system, the Banco Popular de Ahorro (BPA) in Guantanamo confirms its commitment to new technologies in the development of its management and financial progress of the country.
On occasion to celebrate its 35th anniversary, the institution has contracts in the province with more than a dozen companies that, by virtue of remote banking, have the possibility to consult the account statement and the last ten operations, credit payrolls, transfer funds, among other facilities included in this computerized provision of service.
Aymé Cobas Urgellés, marketing specialist at the BPA in Guantanamo, also points out that the more than 30,000 customers with magnetic cards issued by the Banco Popular de Ahorro receive 5% discount on the purchases made in hard-currency stores with point-of-sale terminals (POS).
Regarding handing over on loans, in Guantanamo more than 700 non-state entrepreneurs perform their activity with state financing, while a significant number of citizens have loans for the purchase of construction materials, household appliances or the payment of labor.
In the Guantanamo Province, eight ATMs and four branches of the Banco Popular de Ahorro operate, while in the chief town, two more and the same number of saving banks that operates in towns in the territory of Baracoa are being built, both with instant transmission of data to the territorial chief of the Cuban First City.
